PGSCC’s Impact

Promoting Greater Success Coaching Collaborative (PGSCC) Curricula And Approach

I highly recommend Promoting Greater Success Coaching Collaborative for a contract with your organization. We at the Broadmoor Improvement Association (BIA) in New Orleans (Louisiana) has had the pleasure of working closely with Dr. Johnson for many years and can attest to her exceptional skills, dedication, and invaluable contributions to our community. The coaches within her network are also top notch. They began work with our organization during challenging rebuilding years from 2018 to 2020. We were still rebounding from damage caused by Storm Katrina. PGSCC’s contributions spanned across various crucial areas, showcasing the team’s versatility and dedication. They worked closely with our leadership team and played a pivotal role in our reestablishing the organization after it had lapsed. They also helped us to move from financial adversity to years of clean audits. PGSCC’s expertise, hands-on approach and innovative thinking led the BIA to adopt a new distributive leadership structure that still serves us well today. They really are the experts at driving positive change and results.

It is my honor to offer this recommendation on behalf of Dr. Donna Johnson, an extraordinary educator, organizer, and youth and community advocate with whom the Leona Tate Foundation for Change (LTFC) and the TEP Center have had the privilege of collaborating over the past several years. Donna and her team at Promoting Greater Success Coaching Collaborative have consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to helping our organizations to achieve its full potential and the expertise to help us to make it happen. Their work embodies the values at the heart of our mission—educating, engaging, and empowering communities to challenge systems of inequity through awareness and action.Promoting Greater Success brings deep professional insights to its work, buffered by years of professional experience. Its coaches were in the trenches with leadership, helping us to solve problems in real time, and to realign our goals. They helped us to blend compassion and accountability in our approach towards our employees, and employee retention and engagement rose considerably. We created a work world where people feel both seen, equipped to lead and to are appropriately skilled to get their jobs done.

My name is Alexis Smith, Executive Director of Us Helping Us New Orleans, a community-based  nonprofit developed to promote quality education, educational opportunity, and economic development  in the Central City neighborhood of New Orleans. Promoting Greater Success Coaching Collective, an organization headed by Dr. Donna Johnson, has been with Us Helping Us New Orleans since our beginning as a non-profit community - based organization, six years ago. They have been a real asset to the group and has helped us tremendously through organizational coaching and advising, and by connecting us with other programs and entrepreneurial resources that have helped us develop and grow the organization. Dr. Donna was originally recruited to provide us with assistance in opening our afterschool and with our  summer program for youth. Very shortly, due to her vast knowledge and experience, we asked and she  agreed, to come on board as ex-officio board member, to provide broader technical assistance in areas of  board and organizational development and in community relations. Dr. Donna brought in her people and they helped us to better understand how to have a productive and  well-functioning board that works well. For example, when Dr. Johnson first started I was the board president and my team was underperforming, however, due to her advising, I stepped down from the board, interviewed and was hired for the ED position, which is a much better fit organizationally. We took off after that. If you select Promoting Greater Success Coaching Collaborative, I have no doubt that they will exceed your expectations. Dr. Johnson is an amazing leader. She has been diligent, inspiring, patient and innovative, and her determination is contagious. Her team is no less amazing.

I am writing to share my experience with the impact of Dr. Donna Johnson, CEO of Promoting Greater Success Coaching Collaborative and her consultancy team.    Dr. Johnson's dedication to child and youth development and her strong focus on cultivating community-wide efforts have made a huge difference in our campaign to bring back our neighborhood, which was nearly destroyed by Katrina in 2005. It’s been twenty years since Katrina and with Dr. Johnson’s help, along with others, ours is one of New Orleans’ most thriving neighborhoods. Dr. Johnson first got involved through our neighborhood association in 2012, which was on life support. She brought in her people at Promoting Greater Success, and has consistently supported its growth by providing technical support to leadership. The Association is now a city leader and model for neighborhood leadership, development and innovation.   We at Propeller work to promote economic development in the region through supporting BIPOC businesses start and scale. We began partnering with Promoting Greater Success Coaching Collaborative in 2016, when our doors first opened. We signed on, along with other key institutions in the neighborhood to implement Donna Johnson’s Broadmoor Thrives Intergenerational Neighborhood Development Plan. This innovative, professionally researched, comprehensive intergenerational neighborhood living plan addressed key areas of needed change and led to systemic reform of the community that focused on the needs of children and teens, families and single adults, and of seniors. All key community institutions and leaders embraced and adopted Broadmoor Thrives and it became instrumental in our work to improve the quality of life in Broadmoor.    Dr. Johnson’s Equity Zone Project built upon work began with Broadmoor Thrives. It has brought neighbors and community institutions together to discuss, vision, propose, and then to make changes necessary to ensure equitable intergenerational community living throughout the Broad Corridor area, which consists of five cooperating neighborhoods.   Dr. Johnson came on board with Propeller’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) business development incubator program to provide executive coaching to program alumni during the first year after their graduation from our program.   In conclusion, Donna Johnson has been an invaluable partner. She and her team’s proven ability to drive positive change and their deep-rooted commitment to local empowerment makes them stand out from other groups that I have worked with.
